The Atlanta Journal reports that "Former Democratic U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney of Decatur has agreed to pay $6,000 to the Federal Election Commission for violations during her failed 2006 reelection campaign, according to documents released Monday." I suppose I could be the only semi-conscious American who is LIVID, but I certainly hope not. Since I often find humor in irony it's possible that report might have struck me as a hilarious hypocrisy if I still had a sense of humor - but after the bailouts and the "recession" my sense of humor is not so easily tickled. McKinney made some relatively minor errors and all hell breaks loose, even as we know for certain that the Democrats and the Republicans - McCain & Obama - all took millions in LEGAL BRIBES from the health care industry, Big Pharma and the likes of Goldman Sacs. How do I know that Cynthia did not get just as many big corporate donations? - well, for one thing, the corporate media kept Cynthia's candidacy as big a secret as the location of the The Lost Dutchman Gold Mine.
The following list from OpenSecrets.org provides the list of Obama's top campaign contributors:
